twilight (2008)

"I'd never given much though to how I would die. But dying in place of someone I love, seems like a good way to go. I can't bring myself to regret the decisions that brought me face to face with death. (...) Death is peaceful - easy. Life is harder."

"So that what you dream about? Becoming a monster?
I dream about being with you forever."

"I don't have the strength to stay away from you anymore.
Then don't."

time's a wastin

Now I've got arms
and I've got arms
let's get together and use those arms
Let's go
Time's a wastin

I've got lips
and I've got lips
let's get together and use those lips.
Let's go
Time's a wastin

The cakes no good if you don't mix the batter and bake it
And love's just a bubble if you don't take the trouble to make it
So if your free to go with me, I'll take you quicker than 1, 2, 3
Let's go
Time's a wastin

Now I've got blues
and I've got blues
Let's get acquainted and loose those blues
Let's go
Time's a wastin

Now I've got feetand I've got feet
Let's start to walk where the lovers meet
Let's go
Time's a wastin

You've got me feeling love like I've never have felt it
Your full of sugar and I think I'm the butter to melt it

Now I've got schemes
and you've got schemes
Let's get together and dream some dreams
Let's go
Time's a wastin

a noite passada

A noite passada fui passear no mar. A lua cheia escureceu nas águas, e então falámos e então dissemos, aqui vivemos muitos anos. A noite passada um paredão ruiu. Pela fresta aberta o meu peito fugiu. Estavas do outro lado a tricotar janelas, vias-me em segredo ao debruçar-te nelas. Cheguei-me a ti, disse baixinho "olá", toquei-te no ombro e a marca ficou lá.

the sound of silence

Hello darkness, my old friend,
I've come to talk with you again,
Because a vision softly creeping,
Left its seeds while I was sleeping,
And the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains
Within the sound of silence.

In restless dreams I walked alone
Narrow streets of cobblestone,
neath the halo of a street lamp,
I turned my collar to the cold and damp
When my eyes were stabbed by the flash of
A neon light
That split the night
And touched the sound of silence.

And in the naked light I saw
Ten thousand people, maybe more.
People talking without speaking,
People hearing without listening,
People writing songs that voices never share
And no one deared
Disturb the sound of silence.

Fools said I,you do not know
Silence like a cancer grows.
Hear my words that I might teach you,
Take my arms that I might reach you.
But my words like silent raindrops fell,
And echoed
In the wells of silence

And the people bowed and prayed
To the neon God they made.
And the sign flashed out its warning,
In the words that it was forming.
And the signs said, the words of the prophets
Are written on the subway walls
And tenement halls.
And whisperd in the sounds of silence.

oração das bailarinas

Ballet nosso que estais no sangue,
santificada seja a vossa música
Venha a nós o vosso esforço

- Estamos no último andar - informou o ascensorista.
- Mandem acrescentar outro andar - disse o Sr. Saída.
- Mais alto - disse o Sr. Entrada.
- Até ao céu - acrescentou o Sr. Saída."

bohemian rhapsody (part 1)

Is this the real life?
Is this just fantasy?
Caught in a landslide
No escape from reality
Open your eyes
Look up to the skies and see
I'm just a poor boy,
I need no sympathy
Because I'm easy come, easy go
A little high, little low
Anyway the wind blows,
doesn't really matter to me, to me

dead poets society (1989)

"We don't read and write poetry because it's cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion. And medicine, law, business, engineering, these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for. To quote from Whitman, "Oh me! Oh life!... of the questions of these recurring; of the endless trains of the faithless... of cities filled with the foolish; what good amid these, Oh me, Oh life?" Answer. That you are here - that life exists, and identity; that the powerful play goes on and you may contribute a verse. What will your verse be?"

"I went to the woods because
I wanted to live deliberately.
I wanted to live deep and
suck out all the marrow of life.
To put to rout all that was not life;
and not, when I had come to die,
discover that I had not lived."
Henry David Thoreau

before sunset (2004)

"I feel like if someone were to touch me, I'd dissolve into molecules."

"So, I want to try something.
What?
I want to see if you stay together or if you dissolve into molecules.
How'm I doing?
Still here.
Good, I like being here."

"Memories are wonderful things, if you don't have to deal with the past."

"The concept is absurd. The idea that we can only be complete with another person is evil! Right?"
"You can never replace anyone because everyone is made up of such beautiful specific details."

it's late

You say you love me
And I hardly know your name
And if I say I love you in the candlelight
There's no one but myself to blame
But there's something inside
That's turning my mind away
Oh how I could love you
If I could let you stay

It's late - but I'm bleeding deep inside
It's late - is it just my sickly pride?
Too late - even now the feeling seems to steal away
So late - though I'm crying I can't help but hear you say
It's late it's late it's late
But not too late

The way you love me
Is the sweetest love around
But after all this time
The more I'm trying
The more I seem to let you down
Now you tell me you're leaving
And I just can't believe it's true
Oh you know that I can love you
Though I know I can't be true
Oh you made me love you
Don't tell me that we're through
